Takom: 1/16 U.S. M10 Tank Destroyer Wolverine – Model Kit
The M10 is an American tank destroyer produced and used during World War II. The U.S. Army organized a tank destroyer battalion that specialized in anti-tank combat; it was equipped with M3 heavy self-propelled guns equipped with field guns on half-tracks. A T35 prototype vehicle equipped with a new open-top turret and a T12 tank gun on the body of the M4A2 was developed. After that, from the experience of fighting with the Japanese Army, the T35E1 was created with a pentagon turret and tilted armor on the body; it was formalized as the M10 in 1942. 4,993 M10s were produced from September 1942 to December 1943. Of the 1,648 M10s lend-leased to the British Army, approximately 1,100 were converted to the 17-pounder type and named “Achilles” by the Ministry of Munitions.
